I woke up this morning and refused to eat rice and pork. I biked to a local convenience store to buy yogurt. Now I’m sitting in a air conditioned cafe drinking a frappacino. Not quite Prey Veng. However, Prey Veng is an amazing place; here’s just some highlights from the past year.
Tasty Tea.
Fun at the office.
More fun at the office.
A trip to the States and and different century.
Barb with her new puppy Puzzle
Christmas, Khmer style.
PV market
Boat Trips to Angkeardei Primary School with eels in the boat.
Rainbows over Phnom Penh after a massive rain.
Chili Peppers!
American BBQs
Verdant rice paddies
Incredible sunsets
As I’m looking forward, uncertainties lie everywhere. I only have about 8 months left in Cambodia. I want to cherish my time left in this tropical, eastern land, yet I anxiously await news about my future. Transition unsettles me. Though, Cambodia has taught me to embrace the rough parts, the waiting, the unknown. Cambodia has taught me to relax and consciously be aware of the chirping birds, loud horns, cool breezes, and computers that spontaneously break. Nothing is certain; perhaps that’s why faith is so important to me. Then again, it’s probably also why faith frustrates me so much.
